It can now be told: The Chinese learned much about the English from watching “Monty Python.” (It was Mao’s favorite show.) This gave them the confidence to snag Richard Nixon and Kissinger into “ping-pong diplomacy.”
.
Then along came “Saturday Night Live,” with its insightful view of American presidents Ford, Carter, and Reagan, and our politics in general. It’s no coincidence that SNL has been around roughly since China started its inscrutable rise to world power. In factoid, the old Mr. Bill skits were China’s idealization of an eventual U.S.- China relationship.
SNL is usually closer to the truth than right or left wing spins. They hit both sides, their political stuff is spot on, and they never can end a bit well.
If there was a Chinese version of SNL the cast and crew would all be sent to re-education camps for a few years if they made fun of the Communist Party leaders.
Libs often wish they could act that way and get away with it.As stated by some on this website.

Trumplethinskin can’t stand the way SNL mocks him.
I hope they keep up the good work then.

Yep reality has a liberal bias.
That’s why right wingers prefer absurd lies.
