As the Beatles said: “If we do it my way time will tell if I am right or wrong. If we do it your way there’s a chance that we might fall apart before too long.”

    It’s the same damn thing!!!

I get irritated over the sheer laziness of most songwriters. They match up words that barely share a vowel, let alone actually rhyme. It doesn’t all have to be moon, spoon, June, but pact does not rhyme with back, and telephone does not rhyme with not at home. The likes of true lyricists such as Porter and Gershwin probably won’t be seen again, although Sting comes very close. Apprentice paired with Charybdis I can live with. Rant over.

the libretto has been the ruination of many a fine melody. That’s why I only listen to cookie monster metal. The complete incomprehensibility of the singers reduces the risk of them ruining the song by saying something stupid.

A man may want to dance when it’s a way to get closer to a woman.

“Semolina pilchard climbing up the Eiffel Tower.” John Lennon’s comment on that line was, “Let’s see the fu!@#rs try to explain that one.”
