Bugs in computers and other equipment were and still are a problem.
The internet was a long way off when I was 12. We were still writing actual paper letters to each other!
When I was 12, there weren’t even computers. Televisions were just coming into fashion with 10" screens with magnifying glass in front to make them appear larger.
When I was 12 dirt was brand new !
