“benefit of the doubt” is a good one. After a year and a half, it’s too late. And he’s stocking his Cabinet with billionaires and generals, so I have no doubt we will be ruled as a banana republic.
It is a shame that our society is so cynical and mistrustful of others. One must remember that political statements do not necessarily make it into action and this has been true for decades. I seem to recall similar statements made about previous presidents that foretold the ruination of the country but we are still here.
