    Back to the toon,

Could Flo be the anti-ekert? Nothing anyone else does ever shakes her up. Is Eddie’s use of the male pronoun a misdirection?

It just would make any sense without those 3 words.

I agree, harrietbe; but then I can’t stand Doonesbury anyway.

Eddie the Bloviator! Yeah, what’s with the Doonesbury characters? Why not integrate it with other cartoon characters as well, or leave well enough alone and leave them all off.

OKVOL I thought complaining about “HE” being sex exclusive and applying to all men and women went out with Gloria and Betty?

He- used in a generic sense or when the sex of the person is unspecified.

Hate to say it, “Man” has non-sexist meaning

“Person” (as in Chairperson) might be construed to mean “for each MALE offspring” Hmmm? Shake up a libber?

I suggested from the first mention of an anti-eckert that I thought it was Eddie himself. So far, I see nothing to disprove that.

As for the Doonesbury faces, this is the GoComics web site, not the Nonsequitur web site. You can see where the Nonsequitur “real estate” on the page begins and ends. Apparently GoComics creates a common border for all the strips. Today (and maybe the week, the month, or the year) it is a Doonesbury theme.

Ah, the visibility of the Doonsbury background is based on your monitor resolution setting.

but flagging feels so good! Back to the comic; is Captain Eddie’s use of those words a Freudian slip? is he REALLY who we think he is?! BWAH HA HA HA HA….

Now that is funny. I didn’t see the Doonesbury characters the first time because I concentrated on the middle of the screen.

“vacuous ambivilance”; sounds like a Bush to me. Or could it be one of the “old” V.P.’s like Dan Quale?

My pop-up blocker blocks any weird excess content so the Doonesbury border isn’t GoComics. Try reducing that new Meebo stuff on the bottom.

The anti-ekert reminds me of the survey that asked whether ignorance or apathy is a greater danger to progress.

The most popular answer: We don’t know, and we don’t care.

The survey never went anywhere after that.

BTW I think Doonesbury is great - I love some of the individual story lines! (Sorry to post an irrelevant comment - I just wanted to be Ekert-like and bring the average opinion of Doonesbury on today’s comment board back to zero.) (Preferably without gaining weight.)

The reason for the Doonesbury stuff is it’s the strip’s 40th anniversary.

You’d think the cat would give Eddie a strange look at those big words, but she appears to be napping.

Flagging DOES work arvelru. See post from jglynn from GoComics under today’s Argyle Sweater. Are you shilling for the spammers, trying to get us not to flag? Spammer re-posted later in the day. Flagged him again.
