When the Millennials get their debt paid off and turn their attention to politics much of the Silent and Boomer cohorts will no longer be with us. If the Parties turned their attention to this diverse cohort and based their paltforms on fact not fancy, America could return to its exceptionalism — all are welcome mode — and stop the fultile attempts to return to exclusive monoculture thinking.
What is with the sudden surge in the word “cohort”? Did it pop up someplace and the lemmings are scooping it up and regurgitating it, as they seem to do? I know DC is reverting to models of ancient Rome, but…cohorts?? Really???
I tend to dismiss comments that begin with, “Someone said”, but figured out the reference is to the respective party leaders in the House. Committee chairs tend to be assigned by seniority among Democrats, so most Democrat chairs are older than their Republican counterparts.

There’s actually something to be said for changing it to allow younger Democrats to gain the higher profile they need to do something like, say… run for President.
Made me think of Rory Calhoun in “Motel Hell”. We’re going to need a lot more aggressive Democrats to hold back the tidal wave of bad stuff Trump is indicating as his, and the Reublicans’ in Congress agenda. Maybe hold off until mid-terms and get enough to take back the House, and get enough change in the Senate as folks will be disgusted, truly disgusted, if any of the “Make America a greater threat”, to it’s CITIZENS and the world, actions make it through.
yes, and better yet, younger democrats don’t vote. tou guys had a lock on it, but if you don’t vote you get what the other guy wants. in the crucial states trump won, he received fewer votes than romney.
