Is it not surprising that the folk in Florida would re-hire someone who so blatantly avoided the job he was hired to do the first time. They say dementia and loss of memory will affect one in three. I guess in Florida the number is a lot higher.
The Democratic politicians will welcome Rubio back to the Senate with open arms. They already achieved victory when they crushed Alan Grayson. Now Rubio will fulfill the Democratic aim of providing the Democrats with an excuse for continuing to work for the 1%. Of course, Murphy would be only marginally different.
Libsmasher is just doing his best to reveal the conservative cause as repellent to all thinking people and all caring people. Consider it a service to America. Please proceed, governor.
Like most of the Republicans in the Senate, they don’t want to do the work. They just want the benefits. With a track record like this, it is hardy surprising the Republicans fell for Trump. I don’t know why the GOP would want to re-elect people who don’t do their job, but I suppose that is what the party has come to.
I know things look good for Clinton, but maybe I’m just superstitious, so I’m not counting chickens just yet. It will all be over soon enough. Well, maybe not soon enough, but pretty soon. But in any case, if Clinton wins, I will be happy, but I won’t gloat. After all, sometime down the road, the Democrats will lose. We have to have a functioning country even though there are opposing positions, and as much as possible we should not view our political opponents as enemies. And in particularly, the people voting for Trump have some legitimate complaints. The elites have gotten too powerful and too complacent, and that includes some Democrats, too many Democrats. I would argue that Trump and the Republican party are exactly the wrong response, but Democrats have to do better at putting together an inclusive program and then explaining why that program is better for all. On the other hand, there are some issues where I would not advocate compromise. Roe v. Wade is one of them. Programs to deal with climate change are another. A strong system of public education is another. Some kind of truly universal health insurance is another.

Oh, he’s not “not there”… He’s just gone for a bottle of water. I’m sure he’ll be back as soon as he finishes it.
