I understand women sports reporters make less money for covering women’s sports…but I understand that men don’t want to be seen almost naked by women reporters, though.
Didn’t we go through this same idiocy over a decade ago with a female reporter in the locker room?? A lot of folks still object to unisex bathrooms. Uh, mm, what about females entering lesbian female’s tennis locker rooms??
Who really WANTS to go into ANY locker room to conduct an interview? (Gyms don’t smell bad, it’s the locker rooms.)
As Brobst may be recalling, this is what they used to do. The exception became after the World Series victors first, then it became “normal”. Having a respectful press conference with the players, like Formula One does with it’s post race podium drivers, retains a little of the dignity sports have long abandoned in the U.S.
Seems like a strange bit of sports culture that needs maturing. Strange that the female reporter was not officially cautioned about wearing sexually provocative clothing in the men’s locker room; but the Jets owner was quick to apologize on behalf of the club for some player kibitzing; A Redskins running back was required within hours to grovel and apologize for “sexist” remarks; And all teams will be required to attend a course on proper conduct in the workplace. Gotta hand it to Women’s Advocacy, or whatever.

^^ Agreed, Radish. Honestly, what was she doing in their locker room. That would not have been tolerated if it were the reverse.

Put a cop outside the locker rooms and allow only the ball teams employees to enter. Reporters can wait outside.

Seriously, it was a female activist judge who changed the law.

“reverse sexism”
… Isn’t that like “reverse racism?” Either it’s sexism or it isn’t. :PGypsy8 over 13 years ago
