Is the motorcycle the attraction or Haley’s brother.

Val is being rather hypocritical…her husband rides every day. I’ve ridden nearly every day for 50 years and have never broken a bone on the street. So Val should have asked if the boy had boots, gloves, and a jacket for her, to go with that helmet. And what his riding record was. Tickets, accidents, etc.

Don’t forget, Val’s husband almost died in a motorcycle accident, not long ago.

My dad had his first ride on a motorbike at age 83, he’d always said “Nope nope” when offered a ride before. He Loved it. Was the highlight of his summer.

Only a teenager could translate “Over my dead body” to “She’ll think about it.”

Motorcycle safety depends on alertness and planning. These are not skills 19 year-olds are known for.

Val’s thing about it alright, and about what could happen. When I was about 12 and my folks were away a local older teenaged girl was “watching” me. Her boyfriend came over one night on his motorcycle and asked if she wanted to ride over to a carnival that was in town. “No”, she said, she had to watch me. He said, “he can come too.” So I rode behind her behind her boyfriend. While I was gone my folks called to see how I was. Major trouble ensued!

Brings back memories. Only I did not say I was going for a motorcycle ride, just that I was going out. Better to seek forgiveness than ask permission.

They stink up the neighborhood and there seems to be some pride in how loud they can make rude noises.

My grandmother couldn’t wait to ride in my wife’s Austin Sprite with the top down – this suprised her, until she told her about riding behind my cousin on his Triumph Bonneville.

Val’s Husband was taken out by a car. He rides all day every day, so his exposure is extreme. People die in car-to-car accidents every day. Get over your prejudices, folks!

Dated a motorcycle dude back in college. He took me on a bike ride one night and was not well pleased when he had to dig my nails out of his ribs at the end (I did NOT enjoy the ride). We finally broke up because we had NOTHING in common. Then I met my sweet cubby hubby and we’re going on 40+ years together.
