I had said up front I was for the Cubs. But one thing struck me last night. Without the DH the Cubs probably would not have won this series. Think about it. If they had played four games at Wrigley without Schwarber in the line up; as even as they played each other, Cleveland would probably have won one more with him out of the Cubs batting order. This was ‘meant to be’ this year even going back to AL winning All Star game and getting ‘home’ field advantage.
The Blues are now in their 50th season without ever winning the Stanley Cup. I know it’s not Cubs territory yet, but how do you become beloved nationwide for never winning? Same with my old team, now the Arizona Cardinals. No title since 1947. Are they “one of the most storied franchises in sports”? No, they’re just a historically lousy team. I guess you have to be in a huge media market like Chicago to achieve that kind of status by not succeeding.
