That is the one thing that really bothers me about Trump. He is obviously deplorable. He short changes the people who work for him, he has hired illegals, pays below minimum wage when he can, has been involved with mob figures, has frequent bankruptcies that screw his fellow investors, pays to play, and is crude, a bigot, a loud mouth, and certainly has little respect for women. That is bad enough, what really bothers me is the number of people that think this is all OK and want to put this moron in charge of the government. I never thought there were that many people who apparently think his behaviour is acceptable.

Hillary was wrong to say “a basket of deplorables”. A basket is not nearly large enough. Just look at the Trump rallies.. does any sane person think those folk represent America.. The world hopes not.

So homo-phobes are those who deplore sexual deviancy? So…being a sexual deviant is now acceptable? Strange society we live in.

And the deplorables are out in force today to defend the xenophobes, homophobes, sexists, racists, and Islamophobes. So while you defend your basket, take a look at yourself, which of these categories do you fit in? Are you for the wall? Against gay people? Think women should be 10s and earn enough? Are you for keeping all Muslims out of the country? You may want to take a look at what lead to all your hate. You don’t have to live this way, the world is becoming more tolerant, it is okay if someone has a different lifestyle, skin color, gender or religion than you.

“for at least 4 decades the Republicans have waged a war to increase inequality”

Don’t forget that the Democrats, in the person of Bill Clinton, joined them in this enterprise.

In the Brexit referendum, the Remainers also said that half of the Leave supporters were xenophobic, racist and Islamophobic. That seemed to piss off the Leave supporters who were not, despite the statement being about right, but then leading the Remainers to be accused of as ‘elitists’…and entrenching the positions of many Leavers who refused to listen to any rational argument against their position. Beware.

Case in point: Bruce 4671 said: “so….. there are a few million of us “deplorable” people and none of us are anything like she describes. She is a liar and the mother of all lies”

Clearly Bruce is wrong: there are many Trump supporters who are racist, Islamophobic and xenophobic (groups like KKK and neo-nazi groups have made it public their support for Trump). How wrong Clinton is, is in manner of degree. Half-wrong/half-right?

t b said1) Hillary Clinton should not have said what she said.2) Hillary Clinton was correct when she said it.

    Yup.

The “media” is only rarely, if ever, pointing out that she went on to say the OTHER HALF of Trump supporters are frightened about the economy, jobs, and other issues Trump touts, that are falsely portrayed constantly by his campaign, and it hasn’t been just Trump. He’s just the most radical, and stupid, passing on phony outrage like pizza and pop at a kid’s birthday party.

Half the people who have voted for Trump so far fit what she said. And a whole bunch of other people are martyrbating over it. Someone today said that if a speaker deplores xenophobes, homophobes, sexists, racists, and Islamophobes, and you feel offended, perhaps you should look at the choices you’ve made in your life.

An excellent cartoon. People who support Trump are generally in one of three categories: those who do so out of ignorance (about how terrible Trump is, about Hillary – who is not perfect, but is generally progressive, reasonably honest for a politician, very smart, and highly competent – or a combination of the two – i.e., believing the two are “equally bad”), those who do so out of stupidity (basically anyone who starts out in the first category but is unable/unwilling to accept/understand the copious evidence that disproves their mistaken ideas), and those who do so because they share one or more of the deplorable attitudes cited in the cartoon.
