Mom would never let my brothers get away with a pigsty like that, and yes, she worked a job outside the home, too- and there were 5 of us.

When I let my room get that bad, I came home from school to find everything in a huge pile in the middle of my room. Toys, books, clothes, bedding, everything…down to the last dirty sock. And there was no dinner for me until that room was spotless. She only had to do it once!

way back in the 60s when we finally moved into a house I was conditioned from many years of living in furnished Apartments. Even at age 7 I was conditioned to make my bed and never leave dirty clothes lying around. Or eating in my bedroom

This is also my son’s room. What is it with males and their room? Clean up your room!! My response: It doesn’t bother me. At which point I have to resist the urge to shake some sense into him.

My godson’s room was very much like this. His mum told him to clean it up, and he s-l-o-w-l-y turned in a circle, and then looked at her blankly. "Why? What’s wrong with it??
