Onomatopoeia is a pretty cool part of our language, but have you EVER heard a sound like “THUUM”? I guess the “th” is throwing me.

Looks like not only did Rikki survive, so did her hat. Which is good, she’s cute in that hat.

THUUM?

Ugh. Team Locher always took three weeks to get through one scene. I had to stop reading. I like the current team much better — they move the story along and are better at drawing too.

So now Abner will think Rikki is dead and Rikki will think Abner is dead….interesting.

Somehow, “earth-shattering THUUM” doesn’t have quite the same ring to it.

So how come the killer didn’t lock the doors?and why on earth did he have to boast? Unless orders from his boss of course

Rikki lives! But the Vampire Car most certainly does not. THUUM! The reverberating, earth-shaking explosion will surely wake up much of just-after-midnight Tracyville.I suspect that Pat, and the back-up that should be on the scene any moment, will take custody of Rikki. She may have an interesting tune to sing….

It’s a vampire car. Like any good vampire, it’ll rise from its grave. Look how many times they thought they killed Dracula.

I have been following this strip for several months now, enjoying the wacky sidebar adventures of Vista Bill etc. but I have to say about the comic itself that despite all the Peqoudian poetry it is very dull. There are two problems with the new team 1) everything plays too much like a comic book, with preposterous Vampire tractors and so forth and worse 2) no sense of any real danger. The strip seems cleansed of Goulds sadism in favor of a kind of D.C. comics cartoony atmosphere.
