What? No trip to Milwaukee? Well, this series has been a real treat. The story line and artwork were remarkable. Thanks.

It does keep going a few more strips before the two-month shutdown between July and September 2011 (when McCay moved to a Hearst paper), but the tour of cities is over. I’m glad GoComics has run these so people could be exposed to Little Nemo and McCay’s work…most visually arresting strip ever (only Calvin & Hobbes approached its level of creativity). Two thumbs up!

Yes!! Please do run the other Nemo strips; I love experiencing the time period as well as the fantastic story-telling and the incredible artwork. Please do run them, um!

While I am very thankful for all of the effort that went into this feature, I think it would be more “appropriate” to continue up to the end of the 1911 run in the Herald, rather than making an arbitrary decision based on personal preferences about content or the characters. Let readers decide for themselves!

The “several” in the caption above is an understatement. The Comic Strip Library has twelve subsequent Nemo pages from the Herald (up to 23-Jul-1911). Unfortunately, neither the artwork nor the coloring in these 12 pages come anywhere close to the complexity that we’ve seen here lately.CSL continues (seamlessly) with Nemo as it appeared in the New York American, starting on 3-Sep-1911, in which the artwork seems to return to form.

Wow I’m so sorry to see this ending. It’s been a real privilege to see this comic for the first time. I hope you guys do come back and continue it with the next series. I really appreciate your making this available for us to see.

This little bit of visually stunning time travel will indeed be missed. I hope we get another run at some point!

Why does it have to end? Why doesn’t it just start again over and over in a cycle?
