I guess that people are just to lazy to write in anyone they want to vote for? Too much like work.

Just think about impulsive Donald Trump with his finger on the nuclear war button. That ought to provide some motivation to vote. He is liable to get pissed off at somebody and sling a missile their way to show he is not bluffing and start a nuclear war that would end civilization. He is a narcissist and the normal rules of logic do not apply when his self image is tweeked.

This stupidity is why we need mandatory voting laws like Australia. Not telling who to vote for, but rather they must vote. Sorta like requiring a driver’s license

This stupidity is why we need mandatory voting laws like Australia.Only if every mandatory ballot starts with two questions:1. Mandatory voting is hereby repealed.2. All politicians who voted for mandatory voting are hereby removed from office and are barred from holding public office ever again.

Brought to you by the party who makes it harder to vote. When voter turn out is low it is better for the Conservatives. When everyone comes out to vote, it is better for the Liberals. The Republicans know Donald is not a good bet for the party, but the only way to hold on to the congress is with gerrymandering and low voter turnout.

What you need on the ballot is a None of the above option. … If there is no winner the current crop stays in power ….I prefer the version that says if NOTA wins, the office goes vacant, which boots out the “current crop” as well.

The GOP uses voter ID in specific, targeted ways. Where minorities have access to a particular form of ID, that ID is removed from the eligible list. When driver IDs are the only form accepted, what do you think happens? Black drivers are targeted for chicken offenses, and they lose their licenses for the kind of mickey-mouse harassment that most whites never even see.
