It’s always good to see Chicago. I was in a simulator in Driver’s Ed one day and realized I was driving through a virtual Chicago and its suburbs. I couldn’t get to Grandma’s house, though.
I’m loving this “tour” through American cities from 1911, especially the architecture. Those old buildings had a “grandness” to them that we don’t see anymore. The Women’s Temple only stood for another 15 years before it was demolished, but the Coliseum made it to 1981 before the wrecking ball knocked it down, although it had been closed by the City for a decade because of fire code violations. Lots of history there.
Wow, never expected to see some of my old classrooms in Little Nemo! At the right in 9 is the Midway Plaisance, where a bunch of the Colubmian Exposition attractions were (including the Ferris wheel).

Those sober women built some might fine buildings. i guess they had to do something to keep their minds off of the booze!
