While I do not always agree with the phrase “The customer is always right”, in this case, the customer is right. If he asked for a whole banana and you charged him for a whole banana, he should get a whole banana.
I confess that I’ve felt some regret for being an American ever since 9-11. An incident like this confirms it again. Rather than suffer the negative perceptions of me by non-Americans, I might want to be a man without a country. But it will probably do no good since I was born American and everyone will know this even if I cast off my citizenship.
