When my dogs were puppies, I would train them not to fear the vacuum by carrying them in one arm while vacuuming. They were never afraid. They also were not afraid of thunder. That one they pick up from their owners. If you are not afraid, they will not be afraid either.
I have not been following Red and Rover that long so this one is a first. However, every time you pull the vacuum out they are heading for the back door regardless if you have it on or not. If it is raining outside, then they head for the kitchen!
I had a cat who loved to have her fur vacuumed, and would get so excited when she saw the machine come out. Of the many cats I have owned, she is the only one who love it.

My fur kids don’t like to look at the vacuum cleaner, let alone hear it!

That noise! I had to cry and hide from that noise! When I started school, Mom said she’d do the vacuuming when I was at school.

Works well during thunderstorms also…

We used to have a cat who was stone deaf and liked to have his fur vacuumed.
I know I’ve mentioned this before so I guess you might consider this comment a rerun, too.

Definitely a great idea! Also, very thoughtful. Our canine friends have such sensitive ears!

Gotta love the furniture and especially the TV with the “rabbit ears”…
