Few want that stupid wall built, fewer still will be willing to pay for it.

superpositionUnfortunately, “do not feed the trolls” is part of “when good people do nothing”. I have personally seen silence “enable evil to prosper” too many times. Let them have their jollies from the attention, but don’t stand by and let them win by default.

Build a house, you mean like Jimmy Carter?

Building a wall in a house for someone who needs it sounds too much like welfare. I think the Trump gang would rather build walls to keep people out than houses for people to live in.

I try to view it as the founders intended our government to be, that is, without religion, or faith based morality, as the basis of laws. We’ve deviated from that path, with words like freedom and liberty meaning different things to the religious and secular. Government and religions should be parallel paths yet , there are politicians who try to make them converge. Which path should one select? To chose one, you must exclude others and that was never the intent of our founders.

I love statisticians! They completely ignore the bad as if it never happened. Those the bad happened to somehow don’t count. It’s like the victim is less than human.

Back during the lesser Bush admin, there was an apt cartoon showing the USA as a house, and the Republicans were busy tearing down the house to build a needless fence around it.

With the changes in society, diversity, technology, etc there will never be a constant set of universal laws. There needs to discussion and resolution, even if it is to agree to disagree - to postpone resolution of issue. Compromise not polarization needs to be the norm when the only constant is a changing world. An acceptance that progress is more important than mere change to alternative ideologies in the vain hope that this time they will work.

Unfortunately the job to build a wall in someone’s house was taken by an illegal.
