Hatefest; that’s what I call all republican conventions. The Democrats mock the republicans, but the republicans despise anyone who doesn’t buy their nonsense.

I remember watching the ‘68 Democratic Convention here in downtown Chicago. I was a young woman then and thought the world was coming apart at the seams. If you had told me then the events of the last few months i don’t know that I could have stood to get here. By comparison this is surreal.
Or as Melancholia says, “I learned from my parents that you have to work hard as a supermodel to get what you want. Or, marry a rich man.”Although that’s probably the hardest work she’s ever done.
We saw the million person march in Rome, when that was still newsworthy. Decided to stop following the parade when we saw all those baby-blue helmets lined up just past a sign that said “Street of Peace” in Italian. Helmets and padding are kid stuff compared to what they wear now, 14 years later. It’s like they’re wearing small automobiles.
It would be a shame if while they are all gathered in one place a ZIKA epidemic broke out and they all had to be quarantined for a year or two. Lord hear my prayer.
