There’s a rather dim right-wing Australian politician who is, rather unkindly, known as the Oxley Moron.

Rap Music is ok, but there has only been one song. Everyone just adds their own verse to it.

I don’t care for rap, but they pick such cute little names for themselves its kind of amusing.

I have a grammar and writing website, and I posted this (with attribution, of course). Hope that’s okay. It’ll appear on August 29. Um, if you’re interested, the site is writing-rag.com.

No, open minded liberal is an oxymoron. Just listen to what they say publicly; they are all for free speech, tolerance and acceptance, except when you disagree in any way, shape or form with one of their pet causes.

Actually, “rap music” is an oxymoron, but not for the derogatory reasons most people think.

“Rap” is not a genre of music any more than “sing” is. You’ve never heard of “sing music,” have you? Rapping and singing are things that are done with or without music, and they’re not limited to any particular kind of music.

Now, there is such a thing as hip-hop music. It incorporates samples, spinning, mixing and scratching records, and yes, actual full, live bands and original music. You might hear someone rap over a symphony recording with a hip-hop beat, or you might hear someone rap with a heavy metal band. It’s cool if you don’t like it; it’s not so cool to make uneducated statements about it.

Of course, it’s so much easier to take quick, knee-jerk, ignorant cheap shots than it is to actually do a little research. Remember: It’s perfectly okay to refrain from commenting on things you don’t understand.
