They need to turn right, not left. If they turn left when digging out, they will heading for the treatment plant. This is a classic error people make that when they are looking at something and thinking their left/right is its left/right, but it is not.
I guess they want to turn left to take advantage of there already being underground tunnels at the sewage treatment plant. Because otherwise, why would they turn at all?

I notice the guard up in the tower is keeping a close eye on that there sewage treatment plant lest they do something wrong…..
