It’s been a while since I’ve seen “The Pedestal of Truth”. Back in the Johnny Hart era of this strip, when Peter created it, and got on tell his first few bits of wisdom, he was struck down down by God for telling a lie!
Well I guess there’s no way to avoid politics this time of a election year, and you can’t hide from it. I keep my political thought to myself. I know who I’m voting for.
“Yes, I AM Humble. I AM like a small child, with no preconceptions. I AM always open, and willing to learn. I AM, uh, also very nice. Yes, Mr. Humility, THAT’S what they call me. That’s what YOU can call me, too. I’m not all that particular. I AM Honest, too. Honesty is the best policy…”“Yeah, ‘Mr. Humility’, all right! Let’s just go.”
He’s not a Texan, you can tell that. If he was a Texas, he’d be using “proud” instead of “humble”, and “pride” instead of “humility”. At least that’s what the Austin Lounge Lizards might think. (“Stupid Texas Song”)
