Cathy: I can't call this friend! I never sent her a baby card! I've owed THIS friend a wedding gift for two years! I can't fave THIS one until I... Irving: Why do women make it so complicated? Men don't avoid people because of guilt! It's so easy to just stay in touch! I'm in touch with everyone! Mrs. Hillman: YOO-HOO! Remember us?? Your parents?? Living in your spare bedroom?? Irving: Oops. Family gets special treatment.

Special treatment like a hazmat suit and a 100 yard restraining order.
I bet he tried to forget them. Maybe the last month will be a cleaning up of Cathy’s life: seeing old friends, kicking in-laws out, cutting up credit cards, becoming at peace with her body and then maybe becoming pregnant. Not that she needs to have a kid to be happy, but it’ll be an ending that will make people think about their future with a child.

Good grief, are they still there?
I thought it was more like this in real life…..
Kids marriage fails, moves back in with mom and dad (with kids). Not the other way around.

My husband’s solution to the “forgot to send a card” problem is simple. He never sends cards or gifts.

Just brick ‘em in – makes it easier to forget.
