Guy Gilchrist and brother Brad created The Muppet Show comic strip in 1981, one year after the syndicated TV series ended its run and two years before the Saturday morning series Muppet Babies (1984-1992) began. The comic strip was discontinued in 1986, but every now and then to this day, you’ll see one of Muppet characters appear in this comic.
A rare, recently-found excerpt from Fritzi’s screen test for the Daisy Mae character from the 1959 film version of “Lil’ Abner.” (Little-Known Fact: This same clip was the subject of one of the first major film restoration projects, as a similar pitch was made in 1979 to cast Fritzi as Daisy Duke for “The Dukes of Hazzard.”)

According to what my granddad (RIP), he told me when she was the star of this comic, she was an accident-prone jinx!
