With that guy in charge, there’s nothing to worry about.

“Rednecks” have always had a shoot first ask questions later approach. “Duck and Cover” was a stupid concept in the ‘50’s and remains so today. Those who favored MAD were also the types that told us to wear a long sleeved shirt to survive a nuclear weapon.

We may well need fission to solve energy problems. The “boom” problem CAN be handled, but the “we’ve got ours, you can’t have it” approach to all other countries, isn’t exactly sound practice. Far more potentially dangerous countries DO have nuclear capability- oddly, they do have their own nuts in charge.

Those of you who feel no threat from this situation are truly out of touch with reality. It’s as if a spoiled. angry, five year old had suddenly found a loaded revolver. Hopefully, Israel will resolve the matter. The idiot in the White House is too busy screwing over America to be bothered.

churchie- they’re looking for a FISSION reactor to yes, generate electricity so they can sell China, AND US, their oil.

If we had FUSION conquered for electrical generation, it would be a big step forward. Unfortunately, one “operational” mistake and that becomes a step into a very large hole in the ground.

If Pakistan and India having nukes doesn’t make folks a tad nervous, nothing should. I’m also a lot more concerned about that idiot in Jerusalem “resolving” ANY matter.

Propaganda scares about WMD, denials from the nation, demonization of the leaders and we end up with an invasion. Did that with Iraq and apparently some people are stupid enough to fall for it all over again.

stebon, if you’re a “reality based conservative” then you need to read Lies My Teacher Told Me, which pretty well puts the kibosh on your notion that “liberalism is entrenched in our public school system,” since it ain’t.

“Since liberalism is entrenched in our public school system, ”

The one which, unlike most of the Western world, prominently features the pledge of allegiance to the American flag? Oh yes, liberalism is entrenched in it - just not as you understand it, perhaps.

“history does not seem to be held in very high regard”

Really? Now that’s a new one. Like the history how everything was fine with Iran building a nuclear plant when the Shah was in power, with much less safeguards? Or the one where so far, Iran has not attacked any other country in quite a while?

I second the recommendation for LIES MY TEACHER TOLD ME. It’s an excellent book.

People persist in claiming that the influence of liberalism is pervasive in our society when in fact it’s the influence of major corporations.

The pledge of allegiance was originally an advertising ploy, introduced at the World’s Fair. To me, that spells propaganda from the get-go. While I won’t pledge to a flag, I DO pledge allegiance to my country.

You should read THE BUSINESS PLOT, by Gen. Smedley Butler. You’ll have to look for it, as it was published in 1930-something, I can’t remember the exact date. Butler was the most decorated soldier in US history.
