Trickle down economics has failed because the top 1% or .1% aren’t spending the money. They are investing it in companies that don’t require a lot of employees. So the trickle has been cut off.

When Reagan proposed it in the 80s the economic landscape was different. Mom and Pop shops still thrived and employed workers in their community.
Globalization and modern technology have changed since then and Amazon can sell billions of dollars in goods while employing a small fraction of the people it would have required only a decade ago.
Modern logistics have made it cheaper to produce those goods in area where the employees will work for pennies and care little for environmental concerns.
