We joke that we have a left foot Dr and a right foot Dr. It’s almost that bad at our HMO. Do med schools even graduate GP’s anymore?

I miss the days when all I had to do was call the doctor when I was actually ill.

When we lived in Canada, our GP papered his walls with highlighted medical journal tables of contents. Back in the US, I haven’t had even a specialist who could do that.

Or as my doctor says “Welcome to the world of Corporate Medicine”. He hates it! Thinking of retiring early because of it.

From Michael—-and they all have their offices in different parts of town. Plus all the offices are on the top floor.

I am extremely fortunate that I have a primary physician with several nurse practitioners working with him. Both that I have gone to were wonderful at keeping track of my multiple chronic ailments (5), medications (18) and just everyday problems as well. When I need a specialist, which is often, they do refer me, and that is fine. The specialists have been excellent as well. But the NPs are the ones who keep me from losing my mind trying to take care of myself, and I am grateful to them.
