I’m a liberal and I believe it is important to keep the 2nd. amendment.I know lots of other liberals who believe being able to have guns for self protection and or hunting is important.Don’t paint with broad brushes.Plus, may this never happen, but when Hitler came to power he confiscated all guns, and so did, uh, I think Stalin.People have been saying for 8 years that Obama is going to take away peoples guns, and it hasn’t happened yet. I don’t think it will.I myself don’t have a gun, because guns and ammo and (training?) cost a lot of money I don’t have.
Wabbit: as a gun owner, I too support the Second Amendment, and like right-wing-King of the Court Scalia stated in DC vs Heller: that “WELL REGULATED” is THE key phrase in the amendment!
and the Legislative is blocking the Judicial from having its 9th member. And pretending the Executive isn’t even there. That Legislature sure is a lot of trouble. Easily manipulated into fake wars, taking money to vote against their constituent’s best interests.
Your analogy does not fit. A woman carrying a child to term has a lot of risks (including death) and responsibilities (including what she eats. drinks, what she does for a living, where she lives).-Plus, there are PLENTY of restrictions on abortion, many of them unnecessary and ridiculous. How about if we require gun owners to have a vaginal or anal ultrasound before they can buy a gun?
