Good morning and Happy Canada Day to everyone. Monday should be an Independence Day strip as it has been 3 of the last 4 years.

Does anyone know the source of the “nicknames” (aside from being alliterative). Maybe if I were a regular L’il Abner reader I would know. I do know that Tchoupitoulis is a street in New Orleans that they pronounce CHOOP-uh-too-luhs or some other similar variation.

Joe Staton used to be the inker for Wendy Pini’s ElfQuest, during the “Siege at Blue Mountain” storyline. I wonder if that’s where they got Blue Mountain from.

So why hasn’t Fosdick shot him yet? He’s been shooting perps at random over his shoulder all the time.

I wonder if the buffet is serving Hammus alabammus?

They sure got out of their usher uniforms rather quickly

Tracy and Fosdick are back in their regular attire (rather than the usher-outfits), and Fleegle has made a bold, direct appearance at the gala. The Dekashin’in Diamonds are in dire danger, and our lads may have to face the whammy, or worse! Get those civilians out of the way!

If Fosdick exists as a cartoon character in both the L’Il Abner and Dick Tracy universes …

… Abner & Tracy might yet meet one day.

Hi Gang. Been a while since I posted. Love the story. Now it’s off to Lil’ Abner again to get more of my Fearless Fosdick Fix.

It’s starting to look like this strip has jumped the shark.

Good thing there’s no children attending this dream event. Evil-Eye Fleegle’s mere presence has been known to make little kids within his vicinity want to “frow up…”

If I remember correctly, Jamie Farr played E.E.F. in the movie version of Lil’ Abner.

At thiis point, it seems like the artwork is similar to that found in MAD Magazines of the later 1950’s. Very nice!
