My first cat use to bring home live birds had fun getting them out of the house. My 3rd cat use to bring dead mice to my neighbors house.. He never like their son. Still think the kid did it as mine was never allowed outside… She stepped on it… boy did she scream… Had lots of field mice coming in. Washed a few when they got into the pile of wash one the kitchen floor

Brian, I’m back reading this fantastic strip, trying to get to the introduction of the kitties. I’m almost exactly 3 years back now (I think I’m almost there!) and I’ve run across comments by you saying the new-at-the-time puppy was going to be added to the strip. What happened? I read one saying you were swamped training him, but that’s it. Any plans still to add him? It’d be awfully great!:-D

I love the exchange of pet stories this strip encourages!…My mom’s cat, a very indoor cat, caught a mouse and proudly presented to my mom with the expected result (see above panel 3 ). Dad and I came running to see if mom was okay. She had thrown away the gift in the trash in the garage and her cat was persistently searching for what happened to the mouse. Once she realized what had been done, she ignored my mom for three days for rejecting that gift. She never gave my mom a mouse again. :0)

My mom used to have a cat who would bring home a rabbit as large as herself (the cat).

I knew a lady whose cat would leave mouse butts on the welcome mat for her

We had a cat that we called a “mass murderer”. Some nights he wasn’t content with leaving just one dead mouse, we would find them lined up along our sidewalk near the porch steps.
