Heart: I'm wowie woman! So you have to be "Something" boy! Dean: But why "boy"? Heart: You're the sidekick! The sidekick is always a boy! Like batmans boy wonder! Dean: Sounds like sidekick prejudice, if you ask me. Heart: Personally, you strike me as a perfect "Boy cuddles".

The only female hero and male sidekick duo I know of is Kimberly Ann Possible and Ronald Stoppable. (I mentally snickered when I saw “boy cuddles.”)

Dean does have a little point there. At least Heart is considering him.

I’d just like to point out that Batman’s sidekick is ‘Robin’. ‘The Boy Wonder’ is a descriptor, like ‘The Caped Crusader’, not a name..In fact, the only ‘Boy’ sidekick I can think of is Astro City’s Altar Boy, sidekick to the Confessor. And the only ‘Girl’ sidekicks I can think of are the original Bat-Girl (Betty Kane) and the second Wonder Girl (Cassandra Sandsmark). (Oh, wait, wasn’t there a Dyna-Girl or something like that on TV in the 70s?) (I suppose Scrappy Lad over in Ink Pen counts, too, but is he really a sidekick if his hero wants to be rid of him?)

That was the first Wonder Girl. (Well, first-and-a-halfth, I guess, given the weirdness of how she came to be.) Who was not a sidekick, any more than Superboy was.

Sidenote, Donna has gone through almost a dozen names, and has not been Wonder Girl in the main continuity since at least the mid-90s. (Cassie was introduced in ’96, and has had the identity ever since.)

We’ve been over this. Know your place, BOY.
