If number 7 had kept her eyes open she might have noticed the pitch was up near her shoulders.

Tilden might be losing, but at least they get to wear softball uniforms.

My father was a paper salesman, about as glamorous as industrial solvents. But dinner with a customer always meant my mother and the customer’s wife along as well. I can never remember him entertaining just one guy, at least not for dinner. Lunch, maybe.

Did Boo get this batter completely twisted silly? I guess panel one shows a lefty, even thought the glove appears closer to us than the batter.

What a salesman Del is!! He had no clue to his customer’s needs. Nice fake-out from the customer. Sad face to not needing the usual order to gotcha. Where’s the negotiation for the lower price for the double quantity?? As real as the sports story lines I guess.

I’m afraid Del (with no willpower) will succumb to his demons and celebrate this big order with a drink or two.

Looks like ‘ol Del has a frosty mug in front of him already in P2. You can bet that ain’t root beer. And who’s selling to who hear? It appears Del is being schooled by the customer.

Del in P4, Fantastic, I’ll be in jail and my replacement will get all of the commission. Might as well have a few shots to celebrate!

P-1 is one of those quizzes for "How many mistakes can you find: 1) batter’s eyes closed; 2) wrong hand on top for gripping bat; 3) underarm stain runs the full length of her shirt; 4) her belt buckle is on her side 5)it’s a soft ball game but that’s a hard ball in: 6) a catchers mitt in softball?; 7) why is there a tarp around the backstop?; 8) the ball makes an inappropriate ethnic slur against Italians when it hits the catchers mitt. 9) subliminal sexual content implied with “High, hard one”. Can you find any more?

OOPs 10) to stifle means either to restrict their breathing or to constrain. R&W need to invest in a new Thesaurus.

Is it common in high school for batting helmets to have chin straps? I’ve seen them in Little League, but I haven’t seen a high school game in decades.
