Some people live to crush dreams. Eventually you’ll learn to recognize and avoid such people. But Frazz is right. You’ll make more.

Can’t be a charter member of South End Rowing Club? Form your own rowing club.

Mrs. Olsen is not crushing anything, just pointing out the truth, without actually saying it. “Charter Member” is defined as “an original or founding member of an organization”. No one reading this post would qualify as a Charter Member of The rowing club mentioned.

Frazz is usually a great champion of proper word usage. Why not explain to the lass the proper meaning of the phrase “charter member”?

comicsssfanI don’t know of any school that opposes tests. It is the best way to find areas of learning that require special attention to remedy. The problem is one-size-fits-all, centralized tests that promote role-learning, “teaching the test” instead of the subject, and using the results to punish teachers and enlarge the rich/poor discrepancies between schools. This was one of the more popular planks in my 2010 campaign for Texas State Board of Education.

I know that global climate change is real. I am not convinced that human beings are the primary engine of that change.

I do believe that if we do not end our dependence on fossil fuel, we will poison ourselves out of existence much more quickly than global climate change will

Redkaycei RepocI am afraid you misunderstand. I am a bit like the kids in that school: I enjoy baiting authority figures. Especially self-proclaimed ones who do not produce citations for their statements when repeatedly asked. And yes, I welcome the same. In mythology, the hippogriff was not involved in producing data, just assistance in helping Rogero to obtain it.

Perhaps she could be a Charter Member of the South End Rowing Club Fan Club (or maybe the South End Rowing Club Fan Club Fan Club).
