It’s about time that the rcc does something right. They finally have a pope who cares about the people more than he cares about the church and its dogma.

God works in mysterious ways. Saves a few and lets the other ones go. Kind of like mother nature..What would Jesus say? Done enough?

Jesus said remove the log from your eye. It may be a stunt, but Vatican City is an extremely small enclave, and has no true political bearing on Italy. It IS an example to try and shame the largest, richest countries in Europe to do more, as should we.

In Europe, over 800,000 migrants have traveled to Europe by sea in 2015, according to the United Nations refugee agency, and a little over half have come from Syria. About 62% of all migrants that have traveled to Europe this year, however, are men. A little under a quarter, 22%, are children and only 16% are women. The New York Times reported in October the mass exodus of men to parts of Europe could cause problems in both the countries they leave and the countries they enter. The head of the International Organization for Migration in Turkey told the Times: “We know on the positive side that migration can boost economies and trade and lead to cultural exchange … But if it is mismanaged, it becomes a problem for both the receiving states and the countries left behind.”

The Vatican is sponsoring the refugees and Sant’ Egidio is handling the details, including housing in Rome. Families and those who had their homes destroyed in Syria with proper documentation were preferred. The teenage boys who are getting out of Syria would have been forced to join the military. They would kill or be killed. The pope is giving these few a future. Where are the other leaders and religious men on either side who care for these people?
