Andrew Jackson should be removed from the $20 bill entirely. Simply relegating him to the reverse of the bill still insults descendants of former slaves and the native peoples.
With new printing technology, there are a lot of cool possibilities for currency graphics.. But do we really want a new layer of bureaucracy to make those decisions? Would people refuse to accept paper bills with historical or cultural persons with whom they disagree?.Benjamin Franklin seems a rather kinky character, after you read some of his writings. Theodore Roosevelt once called Tom Paine “that filthy little atheist.” Geronimo might be still be unacceptable to some. And it continues to amaze me that Lincoln’s reputation continues to be systematically deconstructed while those of Jefferson Davis and other Confederate figures are built up.. I don’t mean to mock your choices, just point out difficulties that might arise concerning them. .Actually, don’t you think that paper currency will soon be out of use, deferring to credit and debit cards, and other forms of digital money transfer?
To accommodate all the political views, I’m think animated gifs for all “paper” currency/checks … there’s so much rf energy all around us, that is easy to power an oled display with an rfid type sniffer to power the circuitry … a $20 bill that changes images every 5 minutes.http://dl.acm.org/citation.cfm?id=2626319http://www.theverge.com/2016/1/3/10706180/lg-rollable-display-flexible-screen-announced-ces-2016

Except for Lincoln, replace all the dead presidents with MLK, Sacagawea, Sitting Bull, Eleanor Roosevelt, etc.

Hmm, Sam Clemens and Will Rogers would both be representative of what Americans should be reminded of on a daily basis.
