So he’s roughly 85, making her dad roughly 60, making her about, what, early 30s?

I switched to liquid soap many years ago after a guest remarked about my saved soap slivers. Haven’t had bar soap in the house since.

My grandfather was about 50 when my dad (youngest of 11) was born and my dad was 40 when I was born. My dad’s father was born about 10 yrs after Lincoln was assassinated. All of my grandparents were born in the 19th century and I’m in my 50’s.

I always wondered why my parents saved little chips of soap like that. My father was born in 1938 towards the end of the great depression. I usually don’t give my age but I wasn’t born until 1978. I have a brother who is old enough to be my father and first cousins who are 20 years or more older than I am.

I read it as speaking on behalf of the bar of soap, and the soap was started during the Great Depression.

i wasn’t born until the end of the depression, but my parents lived through it, and sticking the old bit onto the new bar was just one of the things they taught me. my grandson is about 3 years younger than cynthia.
