I got a call yesterday telling me they had important information about my credit card and how to lower my interest rates. It’s a shame I don’t have any credit cards.
Two or three times a week, I learn that my business has been approved for a loan. Of course, I have no business. And has anyone, anywhere, gotten one of those calls and said, “Why yes. I’ll take a loan. Send me money.” If I ever get a terminal disease, those guys are in serious trouble.
I am getting calls from some one claiming to be from the CRA (Canadian tax department) about an immediate law suit if I do not follow their instructions.. A common scam evidently but they are pretty aggressive with the demands.
I found out last night that someone opened a new Facebook account using my name and picture. After getting some people to reply to their friend requests they started posting about how they won $200,000 in a lottery. One person following the story thought it didn’the sound right and called her sister, a good friend of mine, she called me and I alerted my friends to the scam and now I’m working to report the fake profile. Fortunately they didn’t start asking for money based on their winnings, but I figure it’s only a matter of time .
