Tony and the leaky likeable BevThe roof is fine, the windows all leak, have to replace 17 windows/ frames/inside woodwork! Do you know what that is gonna cost?
Congrats Tony, you definitely deserve this honor.QOTD : No leaky roof this past season, for which I am extremely thankful as I live on the top floor of my apartment building.
As for the roof…..Gosh…I’m glad Bev has confidence in me…but I really can’t verify what she says about her roof.
We live pretty far apart, you know.
But if you ask me about my roof…wow…. my roof is great!
I was having a lot of trouble with it… until I had major work done on it last December…and now… yay!No leaks! At least, so far so good…. but I have faith. It’s a good feeling!
@Tony“How’s your roof?”.Pretty gray these days. Aw who am I kidding, it’s all gray..Rose. Depending on the windows you select, say Andersens.17 windows, insulation, interior trim, exterior trim, siding repairs, and labor ~ 9k.
Again, congratulations, Tony. Well deserved, indeed.
Leaky roof – wrap a string around a pushpin and put the pin in the leak. Drop the string into a container – bucket, pan, etc. The water will run down the string. If you have multiple leaks, you can collect them all in one spot. Or pot.
We need to get ours re-shingled and all the vent flanges replaced. All of the flashing and roof vents need to be re-done as well. Luckily, we will be able to lay the new over the old roof.
@Tony – Add my congratulations to the rest. And, again, well deserved. As for my roof – it’s only 3 years old – so far, so good. Last Rose – “Do you know what that’s gonna cost?” Is that your question of the day? I don’t have a clue – good luck. Dani Rice – sounds like you’ve had some experience with leaky roofs.
@TonyOf Course! That’s the only proper way to get it dry:Go to the bathroom (not the small one ;-)), half open and close the umbrella several times over the bathtub or shower tray to get rid of excess water – and then fully open it and put it into the shower tray to let it dry!

Congratulations, Tony, you deserve that nomination!
Landlord says roof is fine and, anyway, we are on the ground floor with an apartment above us.

@TonyHad a torrential downpour last night, and there’s no water inside, so I’d say the roof is doing its job just fine.

QOTD #2: No, but I have only used an umbrella a handful of times. It was easier for me to buy a hat.

Have you ever opened an umbrella indoors — or would you?
Does a doorway count?
