When I was younger, TV didn’t start for the day until after school hours. We used to watch the test pattern waiting for Howdy Doody to start. Since we weren’t near a large enough city(s), we only had CBS and NBC. American Bandstand was on ABC and we never saw it until 3-4 years into its run.

I’ve been out of school since June 1988. When I was sick at times, it felt weird being home and remembering my school schedule in my head.

A rare glimpse of the front of the TV in Peanuts. Usually it’s only seen from the side.

I remember going to the neighbor’s house in the late 40’s because they had a TV, and once seeing “The Weavers”!
