No such thing as an “unborn person”…just as you are not an undead corpse.

The conservatives keep harping about smaller government and getting the government out of their lives and then they turn around and want to pass laws that keep women from making choices about their own body. Talk about hypocrisy.

Rights derived from God are obviously a non-starter in a non-theocratic society. The idea of natural rights has a lot of appeal, but I’ve never been convinced that it’s possible to have a coherent natural rights position that actually has some content. Nature, after all, is just as difficult a concept as rights, so it’s a pretty wobbly basis for rights. Whose nature? Who decides what counts as nature? Usually the same people who have the power and impose the rules they want anyway. I think it will always be the case that rights have to be claimed and established through some kind of political contest.

Evidently, not all Christians have the same beliefs:‘The 30th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, the U.S. Supreme Court decision legalizing abortion, created a huge amount of misinformation about the nature of being pro-choice. Starting with President Bush’s proclamation of National Sanctity of Human Life Day, the purpose seems to be to portray those who are pro-choice as godless and heartless. But being pro-choice is firmly grounded in the Bible.Who is pro-choice and religious? Denominations with official and long-standing pro-choice positions include the Presbyterian Church (USA), the Episcopal Church, the United Methodist Church, the United Church of Christ, the Unitarian Universalist Association of Congregations, and Reform and Conservative Judaism. These organizations have a diversity of views about abortion and recognize it as a morally complex decision that must be made by the person most affected—the woman.Among religious groups, the pro-choice position is nuanced, recognizing that most people believe abortion—as well as bearing children-are matters for individual conscience, not government or religious mandate. Pro-choice denominations don’t seek to impose their views on others or to make them law. They recognize that in our pluralistic society, politicians must not be allowed to impose laws about childbearing based on any particular belief about when life begins. The notion that life begins at the moment of conception is a belief held by some, but not all, religious groups.

In fact, the Bible never mentions abortion and does not deal with the question of when life begins. Genesis 2:7 (God “breathed into his nostrils the breath of life and man became a living being”) refers to the specific, unique event of the creation of Adam out of the earth. It says nothing about the process of conception, pregnancy, and birth. The Book of Exodus clearly indicates that the fetus does not have the same legal status as a person (Chapter 21:22-23). That verse indicates that if a man pushes a pregnant woman and she then miscarries, he is required only to pay a fine. If the fetus were considered a full person, he would be punished more severely as though he had taken a life. [Editor’s note: Read more detailed pro-choice and pro-life analyses of Exodus 21.]’

“God” kills roughly 50% of all fertilized eggs, embryo, before they can attach to the uterus. Lisa should also try being forced to carry an anencephalic fetus to term, deliver it by court order, and enjoy the "joy’ of that.

Ok folks, here’s the deal. Children do not have rights, not like adults. They are protected under the Constitution, yes. But they do not have rights. They are not adults. They are covered by their parents rights. Since they have NO responsibilities they also have no rights. Protections, yes, rights, no. This is how I can punish my child legally in ways I cannot punish an adult. Likewise, it is how I can be punished for neglect of my child where for an adult I could just let them suffer. Children do NOT have rights, not like ours. Schools may punish children, reasonably, in way that they can not punish adults. Doctors can operate on them without the child’s consent, as long as the parent consents. I can also refuse to allow a doctor to treat my child, regardless of what the child wants. I AM THE PARENT, it is MY CHILD. Look, hate me, I don’t care. I am right. You may not like it, but it’s the law, it’s the way it is. They can’t vote, they can’t serve in the military, they can’t do ANYTHING without my consent. THEY HAVE NO RIGHTS. They commit a crime, even murder, they fall under special rules. The only rights that they are granted are the ones they derive through ME. Lisa Benson is once again, fullah malarky. She has no conception of the law or the real world. She lives in a land of make-believe and wishful thinking. Children do not have rights. They cannot make decisions for themselves, and we allow the parents to make those decisions. Unless you want the government to raise your children for you. Is that what you want Benson? Shall we allow the government to come in, make decisions for our children? More than they already do? Time to decide what you really want, which way you really want to go. Is it the parents job to make the decisions? Or your way Benson, let the government decide. Because, sweetheart, someone has to, since children HAVE NO RIGHTS.

So the fetus is going to vote for Trump because he will punish his mom? Or is the fetus mad because he wants his second amendment right and we should be putting tiny pistols in the womb?

It is uncomfortable – but the right to protest was passed by the Senate Republicans and all women were made to give their fetuses a little tiny sign. They all now have freedom of speech and under the new Republican leadership women who denied their unborn their rights are severely punished.

Check the Bible. A “person” starts when they are born. Fetus’s are no more a person than a man’s sperm. Heck it swims up the uterus to fertilize the egg, knows where it is going, Are they next on the “no kill” far right list???
