Has anyone here read Conrad’s “Heart of Darkness”? It takes place in the Congo, it’s the story of King Leopold II of Belgium exploiting the country while heartlessly slaughtering 10 million innocent Africans. Is Gorrell trying to make some connection or is this just coincidental.
