Trump’s favorite veterans charity is an organization of only one guy.

And he was honored to raise money for ‘them’.

Vote a congress that works and we would not need these.

I used to work for a firm that ‘urged’ the employees to contribute to United Way at worker meetings; those who did got raises and promotions way quicker than those who did not.[]The guy who made the pitch on behalf of United Way was later fired…and it was widely rumored that he’d been getting kickbacks in exchange for putting pressure on us wage-slaves to contribute to United Way. I can’t be sure of any of it, just a rumor, like I said…but as soon as he was gone the United Way reps stopped showing up our employee meetings, and the promotion/raise process became much more equitable.[]Oh and did I mention that the United Way guy always showed up in a way spendy car?

Let’s hope founder John Melia can return as CEO and restore trust to this excellent project. The internal investigation found a culture of intimidation and lavish spending by the top executives. Melia created the charity for post 9/11 veterans and was so upset by what his charity has become. There is a petition on FaceBook if you are so inclined to support him and get this project back to helping the veterans. The review ended Thursday with the firing of 2 executives how made more than 890,000 in salary and bonuses between them. When can we have an honest discussion about these run-a-way compensation packages for top executives while the poor are laughed at for wanting a measly 15 dollars an hour? Take every argument you’ve ever used against raising the minimum wage, and try to extrapolate that to an exec. with a $473,000 and one with $369,000 a year salaries whose bonuses came to over $50,000? You could pay a minimum wage employee on just these bonuses, never mind the actual veterans in need.

Just shows what good “corporate” leadership does to benevolent organizations, just like when Elizabeth Dole took over at the Red Cross, hugely increased her salary, and insisted we start charging everyone for CPR and First Aid instruction, no exceptions. Had to pay her salary some way.

They started out as a Legitimate charity. Then, they made the mistake of letting the “Professionals” teach them how to “Fund Raise”..
