In his particular form of color-blindness, Mitch thinks the “accept” icon is blue.

No, thanks; “the people have spoken”. They elected and re-elected Obama overwhelmingly. I guess, since McConnell wanted him to be a one-term President, his ego is all that matters, and he avoids reality. Such disgust for the American people the republicans have.

The Republicans love the Constitution so much they are willing to violate it to prove it. Scalia was a tireless champion of originalism – interpreting and following the Constitutional text and history where they lead. The President has fulfilled his constitutional duty by nominating Judge Garland to the Supreme Court.Doing nothing does not square with the Constitution’s text and history. The Constitution requires the president and Senate to work together to ensure a fully functioning Supreme Court. The Constituion says the president “shall appoint” Supreme Court Justices. Obama has done so. The unprecedented claim by McConnell would allow the Senate to totally deprive a president of that power. That cannot be squared with the Constitution’s clear text and the importance to the Founding Fathers of the presidential appointment power. Never before has the Senate insisted that it can simply ignore the president’s nominee and refuse to participate in the process required by the Constitution. They should not start now.

But it was just trying to repeal the aca every time. An act passed by the house and senate, signed by the president and vetted in the supreme court. That is how the will of the people is accomplished. An act, by the way, that helped many people get health insurance which helps everyone.

Do you really think all the denying of health care, welfare for the children and help to the aged is a Christian principle? Is compassion in your souls at all?

    May God forgive you.

The Republicans are not into the Constitution or responsibility. Why would McConnell do his job, he hasn’t had to up until now.

Accepting one’s Constitutional duty sometimes requires an answer of “NO” to some of the choices presented.

What will really be interesting, is to see what they do after a Dem is elected. Will they then try to push the nomination through (fearing a worse nominee from the new president)? That would be incredibly hypocritical, but I guess it wouldn’t surprise me.

There is no such thing as The Biden Rule that Mitch keeps quoting, he is a liar.Obama is not a lame duck, that won’t happen until after the election.Republicans are partisan obstructionists.
