Unfair portrait of a cat in the last panel. It should have been a sheep or a braying farm animal used. Cats know betters as they follow no one.

Well, this is now the 5th strip that I’ve quit following because the artist just can’t keep his personal politics out of the strip. I don’t read comics to follow politics, that’s what political websites are for. I’m not a Trump supporter either, I just think comics are meant to be entertaining and funny and I’m no longer entertained.

I’m so sad to see Lio jump into the political realm. Even sadder to see the sign didn’t say Sanders. Tatulli will lose a lot of fans with this one, and I’m one of them.

I don’t get why some of you are upset with a comic displaying political issues. Many comics tend to do so, it’s just rare in Lio. Either way, I agree with this one. Trump is a dictator, and I hope he doesn’t win.

Not appropriate at all. If that cat was holding a Hillary Clinton or Bernie Sanders sign, then it would be accurate. Would be even better if Lio stays away from politics.

Why shouldn’t Lio have a say in the political realm ? Obviously Trump is all over the news much more coverage than other candidates. We all lose if the fascist candidate is our next President. Wake up people & don’t be an American idiot

All you Trump haters should not worry. Even if he wins the election he won’t stop your welfare, food stamps, or free medical. And you will still be able to waste your life away instead of working.

With the way the Trump campaign treats the press, no one will be able to criticize Trump if he wins. Why shouldn’t a comic strip artist be concerned and speak his mind through his strip to help prevent Trump from winning and squashing all dissent?

Irrespective of the political position shown here (and my reaction would be the same if the opposing position were shown), this is not an appropriate setting for partisan grandstanding. For quite some time, I have continued to follow this strip like I did Lynda Barry’s “Ernie Pook’s Comeek” a few decades ago. At first, the “delusions of my childhood” perspectives were funny. But too much of it gives credence to the notion of familiarity breeds contempt. It’s kind of like watching the “Revenge Of The Nerds” film series. By the fourth installment, the “poor abused nerds” are so over the top in their willful abrasiveness that you find yourself cheering for the jocks! Obviously there is a place for this kind of a strip. But it is becoming increasingly apparent that it’s not the sort of thing that holds up well on a long term or continuous basis. If you enjoy it, that’s all well and good. But I believe I will move on to other strips. Cheers…..

Comic strips, like other types of media, have voiced opinions over various topics for a long time. If you don’t like the artists view don’t come back. I don’t always agree with a what someone says, but I do agree they have the right to say it; even cartoonists have the freedom of speech/press.

Lio is a wonderful, inventive comic and nobody should delete it because of one day. It doesn’t have a history of political bias and deserves the benefit of the doubt. But I agree completely with most of the above comments. Name-calling over politics is far below Lio’s high standard (and ironically is one of the things that repulses a lot of people about Trump).

And since when, dear objecting folks, is political satire beyond the pale of comic strips? Most comic strips were born (originally as caricature vignettes) and continue, as a scathing commentary on social and political events, quite frequently with very clear and partisan positions. Those who ask for politics to be kept out of comic strips simply want to consume this form of art as harmless entertainment. Politics is part of our life as much as the social quirks and ineptitudes that so often comic strips deal with (and which is rarely harmless anyway). Stop complaining that an author shows what he thinks.Irrespective of whether I agree or not with the political jibe or its presence or absence of refinement, I would today, if I could, subscribe to this strip twice.

Lio regularly supports the environment & opposes hunting. The artist is correct, here. (I will be voting against Trump in June & November, even if I have to write in Vermin Supreme.)

This strip’s daily fodder is that which is monstrous, grotesque, frightening, abominable, unbelievable. The writer/artist would be remiss not to deal with the Vulgarian – in – Chief aka, shudder/choke/good lord!/spa fon, Trump.
