Narrator: Congressional Republicans refuse to close GITMO because that would bring "dangerous terrorists" to the United States. Man: Didn't the Colorado prison system suffer enough when ISIS attacked on 9/11? Narrator: Of course, they'd be in supermax federal prisons. No one has ever escaped from supermax. Sold at age 15 to US forces for a bounty paid to Afghan warlord. Training: Kebob sales. Tortured, so presumably thirsting for vengeance. Their fears are straight out of a 1970's horror movie. Man 2: Bad news, Senator: Abu Kebob has escaped- and he's coming for you! Man 3: Have you checked the children? Narrator: And this passes for serious politics... Man 2: Of course. They never escaped from GITMO into the streets of Cuba. Man 3: Waiting for their chance. Biding their time. Crafty fiends!!

What’s reality got to do with it?As an aside, I wonder what the whole Guantanamo debacle costs per day….

Ted misses the point. In a US Prison the prisoners have rights! They might even get a trial, and which Republican wants them to have their cases aired in court? Far too much dirty laundry! Soon they could be having their own trial, as war criminals in The Hague.
Americans like seeing themselves as the ‘Good Guys’, fighting evil. The abomination of Guantanamo shows the truth.

Abu Kebob would in any normal world be the underdog whose vengeance would be made into a Hollywood movie.

They don’t have to build another prison. There are only 91 prisoners at Gitmo. There are something like 60 supermax prisons or prisons that have a supermax facility at a bigger prison. I think they could each squeeze in another prisoner or two. It costs 80 million a year to keep Gitmo, they could do it for a couple of million of taxpayer dollars back in the US

They should have never been at Gitmo. Under the rules of war they should have terminated for being enemy combatants in other than proper uniforms. Too bad we didn’t follow those rules. We would have been out of this Middle East mess many years ago.

Ted you are so stupid. You know the GOP opposition to GITMO closing has nothing to do with terrorism or national security and everything to do with it’s something President Obama wants.

I’d like to see Republicans, right wingers and the national security apparatus get as worked up about the radical right wing gun nut terrorists who commit most of the acts of terror in this country as they do about Isis, Al Qaeda and Earth First.

Here is the definition of today’s Republicans:
Paranoia is a thought process believed to be heavily influenced by anxiety or fear, often to the point of irrationality and delusion. Paranoid thinking typically includes persecutory, or beliefs of conspiracy concerning a perceived threat towards oneself (e.g. “Everyone is out to get me”). Paranoia is distinct from phobias, which also involve irrational fear, but usually no blame. Making false accusations and the general distrust of others also frequently accompany paranoia. For example, an incident most people would view as an accident or coincidence, a paranoid person might believe was intentional.

They would have rights in the U.S, The can keep them in Gitmo forever without due process. If they bring them here they would have to have a trial. For some reason the Republicans don’t want them to have a trial. It’s there way of bypassing the Constitution.

gotta love these politicians. they are going to a federal prison(supermax) which no one ever escaped. people think that these thugs are the xmen. However, mobsters and thugs that we have imprisoned have not escaped. Maybe we can overfeed them, and they develop heart disease and type 2 diabetes since our diet is horrible.

But we got so much actionable intelligence from them!(sarc)
