Nah, when you hit preteens, you pretty well know everything, and think the old folks know nothing. Not until you have kids of your own do you realize your parents did okay.
How does that old line go? Something like, “when I was 14, I couldn’t believe how stupid my parents were. When I was 21, I couldn’t believe how much they’d learned in only 7 years.”

I never had kids and my parents are still stupid in their 70s.
