    Isn’t this a strip from 2005? Wasn’t Wikipedia already well-known by then? I remember using it regularly from 2003 onwards. So why is Jason acting like it’s something new?

    I don’t remember how it was in the early days, but Wikipedia has evolved into a pretty good starting source on most topics, because people started giving extensive references in the footnotes. Sure, you can’t cite Wikepedia in an academic paper, but you can use it to get an overview of your topic, and start following those links in the footnotes, many of which are from university papers and other reliable sources which can be cited.

    As I recall, when this strip first ran, some pranksters actually did go and put a picture of Paige on the page for warthogs….
