Planned Parenthood has prevented more abortions than any Republican politician will ever manage to do. The fact that they also save tens of thousands of lives is just icing on the cake.

From: the GOP, To: fat pigs, dogs, slobs and disgusting animals everywhere. This outreach is for all the bimbos who think there is a war on women. Just shut up and put these on – the old white men of the GOP know what you need more than you do. And besides don’t forget the Clintons!

This is about all the Republicans have to woo women. A cheep drugstore candy and more restrictions.

Liberals just don’t understand. The fight against abortion isn’t one against a woman’s right to control her body, it is fight for a baby’s right to live.

The right to live, to not be killed, is much more important than the right for body control.

Calling a fetus a “baby” doesn’t make it so.

@russnpat7 – I don’t know where you are are getting your statistics but I would certainly like a cite. Unless your statisticians are treating survival as a convenience.

But let’s get down to brass tacks.

If you want to discourage women from getting an abortion be my guest. The First Amendment gives you all sorts of latitude to reach out to women and tell them you disapprove.

But we aren’t talking about persuasion here. We are talking about the coercion of the state because you and people who think like you want to decide for an adult on her behalf what is good for her and what is not. And your favorite method is to get your state legislatures to pass laws that limit access and make it easier to identify the women so inclined. The right to lifers fought tooth and nail to keep RU485 off the market and then fought to keep it away from teenagers because it would limit their ability to see when it was happening.

You don’t see anything wrong with imposing your will on a fellow citizen as long as it advances your political position and there in lies the problem. You don’t get to choose for someone else. That isn’t what a free society is about.

If you and your fellow pro-lifers want to stand outside of abortion clinics and pledge to adopt the infant as soon as it is born I would applaud you. Hell I might even contribute to your cause. But when you fail in the political arena (as zealots always do) you then turn to confronting women in front of clinics, screaming at them, and trying to make it impossible for them to exercise their rights. That isn’t first amendment – That’s Thuggery.

@denis1112 – I don’t think I’m OK with killing a baby but I like even less the idea of putting restrictions on women’s rights and freedoms so that I sleep better at night.

    It isn’t just liberals.

Maybe “God” is a woman, as she aborts roughly 50% of embryo before they can attach to the uterus, and another significant percentage of fetus do not make it to term. Ultimate abortionist, thus feminist?

As compared to letting them starve and freeze to death once they are children and a drain on your system and a welfare recipient of your taxes?

Looks like our conservatives have nothing to offer but the usual thinly disguised slut shaming & insistence that an embryo is a baby.About 75% of women who have an abortion do so because they are unable to support & care for a baby.I see the usual flimsy fig leaves about not being opposed to women using birth control from people who think government subsidized insurance shouldn’t pay for it. I see the same people pretending to care about unborn “babies” demanding that we slash SNAP, Medicaid, CHIP & every other program that provides assistance to the women who choose to carry their pregnancy to term. Hypocrites all.

No sense talking to the right about abortion; it’s their moral excuse for supporting all the rest of the loathesome right-wing agenda (xenophobia, racism, misogyny, anti-scientific religiously based anti-intellectualism, corporatocracy, militarism, anti-environmentalism; you know the drill). But, as dtroutma points out, god is the ultimate abortionist.
