    We had a Bassett Hound named Hoover once for that very reason. If it was edible and it hit the floor he got it before it bounced! Kind of like that robotic sweeper in ‘the house from the future’ in that old Warner cartoon with the two mice. “Hey ‘Boit’, c’mer!” slap slap slap!

    Unless your Harry von Zell. Then it was ‘Hoobert Heever’. The full story:.“As a young announcer, Zell made a memorable verbal slip in 1931 when he referred to U.S. President Herbert Hoover as “Hoobert Heever” during a live tribute on Hoover’s birthday. Hoover was not present at this tribute. Zell’s blooper came at the end of a lengthy coverage of Hoover’s career, in which Zell had pronounced the President’s name correctly several times.
